Application

Phosphine (alternatively phosphane or phosphoric hydrogen) is a gas used for pest control in gas-tight rooms or vessels only.

The application of phosphine will be carried out only by certified companies with a professional knowledge of gassing and by applicators with suitable protective clothing. The gas is kept in certified steel gas cylinders (200 bar).

To guarantee successful disinfestations the space being treated must be carefully wrapped with plastic sheet and sealed. The gas is pumped into the gastight space by injection lance, a valve is used to control the flow.

The gas is distributed rapidly and homogeneously. This kind of application is not dependent on temperature (can be used at low temperatures as well) or humidity.

After the fumigation with FRISIN®, the rooms are ventilated. Phosphine is readily absorbed and metabolised to phosphorous compounds of decreased toxicity, finally resulting in naturally occurring phosphates. Within less than one hour of good ventilation no toxic phosphine is left. This is confirmed by a regularly following measurement of this gas.
